Tattoos, Booze, Art & Shoes infiltrated Peters Street Station recently as a tastemakers’ paradise that attracted and captivated the eyes of Atlanta’s diversely, vibrant art community. This counter-culture art experience brought one of the city’s top tattoo shops, breweries, body artists, visual arts and installations, as well as sneaker themed art, all under one roof. Powered by The B-AWARE Foundation in partnership with The A-Town Art Agency, Urban Hippie and Bass Family, 25 to Art, Best End Brewing and City of Ink, Tattoos, Booze, Art & Shoes celebrated and showcased the incredible pool of creativity in Atlanta and provided a platform for artists and enthusiasts to come together for a purpose. The event was also a fundraiser for Affirmations Across Atlanta which is an initiative that paints positive affirmation murals in places where they’re needed the most to uplift the surrounding community.
From the vantage point of an attendee, the event unfurled itself as an aesthetic banquet for every art lover. As guests crossed the threshold into Peter’s Street Station, they were embraced by a spectrum of hues dressing the main gallery, a visual feast of one-of-a-kind pieces by extraordinary local artists, live sneaker artistry, and a glowing 3D art projection of a classic high top sneaker. The room pulsated with rhythmic beats spun by DJ Pretty Hippie (Disco Jockey/Producer – Urban Hippie, Atlanta’s Queen of Bass) and DJ Cali (Disc Jockey/Radio Host – 101tkoradio) all while attendees indulged in select brews in branded glass pints from Best End Brewing Company and a signature cognac cocktail from Remy Martin. Beyond the primary gallery, you’d find Roberto Hernandez (Concept Artist/Theatrical Artist/Art Director) delicately transforming his two model canvases into geometric tapestries. A few strides more and guests could view Tuft Rugs ATL stitching a custom Tattoos, Booze, Art & Shoes rug with bright green thread. As you ventured deeper into this artistic playground, you’d discover the City of Ink Social Club, the brainchild of Miya Bailey (Founder/Tattoo Artist – City of Ink). This enclave housed a slew of tattoo artists keen to etch their incredible designs onto guests as a unique memento offered at a special rate. The club also served as a display for the tattoo artists’ own visual creations and a hub for continued mingling and networking within the community.The evening was punctuated with special announcements and giveaways, presented by the charismatic Lex The Visionary (Executive Liaison at The Resource Guild, Music Artist), DJ Cali (Disc Jockey/Radio Host – 101tkoradio) DJ Pretty Hippie (Disco Jockey/Producer – Urban Hippie, Atlanta’s Queen of Bass), and Josh Chavez (Founder – The Bass Family). The promise of Tattoos, Booze, Art & Shoes was not only fulfilled but exceeded. With over $1,000 in art sales, it was evident that this event was not just an immersive experience but also a lucrative platform for the gifted artists.
