In observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the 100th birthday of the late Reverend Hosea Williams, Delta Air Lines and Hosea Helps Inc., in partnership with UnitedHealthcare and Grady Health System, successfully hosted Health & Jobs First, a free mobile wellness and career support event for Atlanta families.
Held on January 19, 2026, at Hosea Helps Headquarters, the community activation delivered free health screenings, employment readiness resources, family support services, and hot meals to hundreds of residents. Grady Health System provided free mammograms, HIV screenings, cholesterol checks, blood pressure screenings, and glucose testing, while families also received employment screenings, benefits enrollment and renewal assistance for SNAP, TANF, WIC, CAPS, and Medicare, along with rent, utility, and emergency housing screenings.
The event also featured free haircuts and hair braiding, school supplies, fresh produce boxes, family-size grocery boxes, children’s activities, raffles, and hot meals, with the first 100 families receiving special meals from Big Daddy’s Restaurant. Raffle prizes included Sony PlayStations, new laptops, and $50 Visa and Walmart gift cards.
Community partners supporting Health & Jobs First included Delta Air Lines, UnitedHealthcare, Grady Health System, V-103, Big Daddy’s Restaurant, Healthcare Resources Staffing, and Insights Marketing, reinforcing a shared commitment to health equity, economic opportunity, and community empowerment.
“Health & Jobs First is more than an event—it’s an investment in people,” said Landis Rush, National Vice President, UnitedHealthcare. Dr. Felicia Bolden Mobley, Director of Health Equity at Grady Health System, added, “This event gives our community the tools to thrive—healthy bodies, strong careers, and brighter futures.”
Health & Jobs First honored Dr. King’s legacy by transforming MLK Day into a meaningful Day of Service, meeting families where they are with dignity, access, and care.
