The Resource Guild presented their monthly Black Media Mixer ATL on February 27th, held at The Union Fit Hub in Atlanta. The event was created to bring more unity amongst black media and served as a vibrant convergence of black journalists, TV and radio personalities, and PR professionals. It was a platform for fostering connections, engaging in insightful discussions, and exploring the triumphs and trials within the black media and entertainment sphere. Randi O (Multimedia and PR Maven-Black, Educated & Broke Podcast/WSB), the event’s host charismatically led the flow of night. Bomade Lemonade Vodka sponsored the libations which made for a delicious spring cocktail to pair with the complimentary food provided.
The centerpiece of the event was the “State of Black Media” panel discussion on media and entertainment. Mr. Daniel Dickey (The Renaissance Man, Founder of The Resource Guild/Black Media Mixer ATL), effectively led conversations ranging in various media-related topics that were enriched by the perspectives of panelists Baby Jade (Co-Host of The Big Facts Podcast), Ferrari Simmons (Multimedia Personality on 105.3 The Beat & The Baller Alert Podcast), Mariam Timmer (Owner/Publicist at Six Sixteen Agency Limited & Star of Real Housewives of Lagos), David Dennis Jr. (Media Personality & Author of ‘The Movement Made Us’), and Lakesha Bennett (Multi-Platform Producer, WXIA 11 Alive News). All of the panelists shared their experiences and offered invaluable industry insights and tips. Overall, The Black Media Mixer ATL left attendees enriched with knowledge, inspiration, and fortified with better tools to navigate their paths in the media and entertainment industry.
