The Black Women’s Expo weekend kicked off with the 2nd annual Phenomenal Woman Awards Dinner hosted by TV personality, Sharon Reed at the TAGO International Event Center. Founder of the Black Women’s Expo, Merry Green was presented with a proclamation from Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and the City of Atlanta honoring her work celebrating the milestone achievements and essence of women of color throughout the country.
Expo attendees enjoyed a true celebrity star-studded weekend. The crowd received an awe-inspiring keynote address delivered by Emmy award-winning actress Regina King, danced away to R&B classics performed live by Ginuwine along with a sneak peak of the new season of OWN’s “Greenleaf” and Q&A with Lamman Rucker and Deborah Joy Winans. The interactive three-day expo also featured live entertainment, free health and wellness screenings, a plethora of vendors, and a meet and greet with Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta veterans Cynthia Bailey and Kim Fields along with a powerful lineup of workshop speakers including Dr. Heavenly Kimes and Dr. Contessa Metcalfe of Bravo’s “Married to Medicine,“ author and influencer Monyetta Shaw, and creator of the Real Housewives of Atlanta empire, Princess Banton-Lofters.
